Take a break with us and check out these 5 kick-ass bloggers and get style-inspired:
If you are a globetrotter mom, there's “A Cup of Jo” founded in 2007 by editor Joanna Goddard (below). She was born in France and grew up in England and the US. She wrote for Cosmopolitan, Glamour, ELLE, New York, Condé Nast Traveler and Martha Stewart Living before working full-time on her blog where you can find a lot of fresh tips about style, travel and food; all focused around motherhood. There’s a great series called “Motherhood Around the World” that profiles American moms and the surprising things they find about parenting in faraway places like New Zealand, Iceland, Kenya, etc.
For modern mothers determined to retain their sensuality and femininity, there’s Romy & The Bunnies, Julia Reston Roitfeld’s (below) website, named after her daughter Romy Nicole. In addition to fashion and style tips, she talks about love, motherhood and family. Plus, there are tons of interviews with fashion-insider mothers - real stories about stylish moms you can relate to.
Are you the super mom who manages to look flawless & chic everywhere, even at home? Then check out The Glow, the website of Violet Gaynor and Kelly Stuart, which provides a glimpse into the world of the most fashionable mothers on the planet (Jemma Kid, Rebecca Minkoff, Selma Blair to name a few), capturing tender moments with their little ones while sharing inspiration, insights, and a few of their favorite things.
For the busy mom who doesn't want to give up her pre-baby style, the ultimate resource is The Hive: the website founded by two fashion industry vets, Melissa Magsaysay, and Sara Riff (below). The Hive is a site that addresses a woman’s evolution from pregnancy through motherhood, without abandoning her love of style, shopping and all things chic.
Mother Magazine was started by journalist Katie Hintz-Zambrano and James Kicinski-McCoy (below). It is a great resource for style-conscious moms, covering topics such as motherhood, shopping, travel, living, beauty and food. For mothers too busy to shop around for beautiful things, their editor's picks has a wide range of curated design picks ranging from furniture to shoes and kid stuff.
