GOING BACK TO WORK? 6 STYLES TO EASE THE TRANSITION FOR WORKING (& PUMPING) MOMS
Leaving your baby to go back to work is hard enough. Add 2-3 pumping sessions a day and it can seem daunting to handle your workload and also squeeze out enough for your LO (little one). Before you throw in the towel, try a few of these styles that will simplify your life and help you reach your breastfeeding goals.
Button downs are the go-to for most breastfeeding moms. But does anyone else hate fiddling with the buttons? Too time consuming, especially when you have a wailing baby to feed. That’s why snaps are the answer. Snaps can look too casual (and a bit ugly sometimes!) which is why we use hidden snaps on all our shirts and PJs. Open your top with just one swift hand motion.
Not everyone has the luxury of a plush private pumping room at work. Some of you have to share a room with other moms and others have to pump at your desk. With these styles you won’t have to pull up or take off your shirt to pump. Hidden zippers and discreet cardigans are the way to go.
If you do have to pull up your top, try a skirt that covers (and flattens!) your belly. We love pairing a cardigan (with buttons up top like the one above) with a high waisted skirt (like the one below) - the ultimate in breastfeeding and pumping comfort and discretion.
Pumping while driving to work? Don’t want to flash other drivers? Wearing a blazer is one option. A blazer not only spruces up any outfit but it also works over most tops and dresses. Teat & Cosset's capsule collection includes a knit blazer so you're comfortable but still pull off that polished look at the office.
Or try a turtleneck with hidden zippers on each side; stay warm on those cooler days and pump in cozy comfort. Teat & Cosset's turtleneck (right) has a ribbed knit detail forming a V, which adds a beautiful touch while flattering your figure. Another option is to wear a poncho for complete discretion, no one will know that you’re hooked up to a pump underneath! And you can literally throw a poncho over any top for a polished and modern look. Ladies, we know pumping gets old fast. Try these fashion tips to help you get over the hurdles and build up your stash so your baby can benefit from your milk as long as possible.
